Today (15/2/2016) , we had our mock company presentation for the subject English for Communication II. Basically, we had to get in a group of 7-8 and create our own company, complete with a proper company profile, an address and year of establishment. To be honest, I enjoyed doing this task because we are free to do and choose whatever service for our company.
It was said that we had to submit the whole presentation after Chinese New Year break, so yeah.... we basically procrastinated.
Almost a week through the break, a few days before the following week, the week, we decided to sit down together on a Friday morning and come up with a name and identity of our company.
Hence, the birth of Bam Bam Travel & Tour Sdn. Bhd. ....
As you can see, the name of our company referred to the size of most of our members (bam bam = chubby) and also the nickname of one of our member. Theoretically, this would mean prosperity or wealth in which we try to reach by building this company from scratch.
Next, we offer travel services who wished to go overseas and see the wonders of the world. To convince the people, we decided to make a short video recording our 'journey around the world', which is basically going to places near Kuala Terengganu, searching for places that would look similar to those tourist attractions worldwide.
The list of places goes like this:
Masjid Kristal = Istanbul, Turkey
Muzium Negeri = Indonesia
Chinatown - Beijing
Pantai Batu Buruk - Hawaii / Gold Coast, Australia
Bukit Panorama - Paris, France
Quite ambitious, right? Hahahaha. So, we scheduled the time for our trip, which will begin after the Friday prayer at 3 till night (initially 7, then we thought it may go as late as 8 pm) and rented two cars. All but the New Zealand scene would be done on that evening, then resumed shooting the next day by noon.
And off we go! (Also, we had our friend, Aidan, as our driver, since neither of us boys in the team couldn't drive and takkan nak suruh the girls drive, kan?)
First, before we headed to the museum, we went to the nearby Sultan Mahmud Airport for some introduction pictures, as if we, as the travel agency, are welcoming and greeting our new visitors and tourists (customers).
Then, we went to the State Museum since it's much nearer and we thought we can just go to the Crystal Mosque by Asar. As I said earlier, the Museum was to be in place for Indonesia, so we dressed up as much as we could to show that we really are in Indonesia. Heck, we even sat by the entrance stairs too!

Next, we went to the Crystal Mosque via Taman Tamadun Islam (Islamic Heritage Park), where, unfortunately, the mosque is fully occupied for an event that led us to go out somewhere else for the Istanbul scene. One quick thought, then it's off to Masjid Abidin, the old State Mosque near Pasar Payang - a white, regal yet moderate mosque with a touch of Arabesque feature. Perfect for an Istanbul scene.
By 5 pm (or so), we drove to Chinatown (just nearby) but didn't stop until we're almost out of the neighbourhood because the place was fully occupied too (probably because it was a weekend). We stopped our cars, took a few photos then left to the beach.
By 6 pm (or so, too), we arrived at Batu Buruk Beach, which was heavily congested with traffic out of no reason PLUS a fire engine parking in the middle of the road! Phewww! (later on, we would find out that the fire engine was there for a reason - someone was drowning to death at the beach...) After half an hour, we reached our destination and took a few shots before heading back to our cars (as it was about to rain there), going through the jam again and went out to our next destination, Panorama Hill.
The hill was a suggested destination by one of our members, who knew from one of our friends who went there. There's a restaurant on top of the hill, one of those hipster cafe, if I may say so, which promises a grand bird-eye view of the city. Fair enough, the scenery was nice, but the facilities were quite a letdown. Therefore, we ended up leaving the place with not much shots but still enough to cover the Paris scene.
It was already 8 pm by the time we reached the hill and we knew the day would extend until 10 pm or so. Plus, we haven't had our dinner yet and most of us were saving our money for the promised place on that hill. But since the letdown, we thought of eating somewhere else that is simple. So, we picked a restaurant nearby our campus (and I bought some food from KFC for the night), had our meal and called it a night.
Phewww.... what a day.
